Daisies and Ferns(card series... # 4)

Watercolor and dried ferns on paper - (6"x7")

I like experimenting with adding different elements while I create cards. This piece of art is created by partially painting (flower, stem and some leaves) and partially using dried ferns and leaves. There is so much liveliness brought by the backdrop adding value to the way the flowers are positioned and curves of the shoot stemming upwards. When I was done with this I was sat there thinking, 'I should do more of these things, it's really fun!'.

'I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.'
~Edna St. Vincent Millay, "Afternoon on a Hill"
